Introduction

Founded two decades ago, i2i Recruitment is a deeply rooted, family-run independent recruitment consultancy, based in Cheltenham. Run by CEO Richard Ogden-Metherell, and Founder Charlie Ogden-Metherell, i2i ensures that as they have grown over the years, their philosophy of ‘Led by People, Backed by Data’ remains their core focus, ensuring everything they do is with a personal approach. The agency prides itself on its unique selling proposition: “making recruitment personal”. By eschewing robotic processes in favour of face-to-face and virtual meetings, i2i ensures they truly understand what candidates are looking for, resulting in perfect matches for their clients. To scale this personalised approach, i2i relies on an integrated tech stack featuring Bullhorn’s Enterprise ATS, Bullhorn Automation, and Bullhorn Analytics. By automating behind-the-scenes manual tasks, the team frees up their consultants to spend more time personally connecting with candidates and clients.

The challenges

Despite their industry longevity, i2i found that their database had become an unorganised burden. Following a data transfer in 2012, the agency was effectively running an outdated “filing system” where valuable data had become dead weight. Because incoming staff used Bullhorn without a standardised set of rules, the platform became unorganised.

Without proper statuses and with contact details falling out of date, candidates had a higher chance of slipping through the net. The agency’s CEO recognised they had “gold lying in the data,” particularly a massive pool of highly valuable passive candidates, but lacked the ability to sift through a decade’s worth of accumulated information to find them. To remain competitive against agency startups and market shifts, i2i knew they needed to stop relying on out-of-date data and unlock the potential of their existing systems.

The solution

At the beginning of 2025, i2i embarked on a digital transformation journey. The crucial first step was a thorough deep clean of their database, giving the team a clean slate to re-train consultants on optimised workflows, from adding a vacancy to making a placement.

With the data sorted, i2i leaned heavily into Bullhorn Automation to streamline the candidate journey. Instead of sending manual emails that yielded poor results, they deployed automated surveys that feed candidate registrations directly into Bullhorn. They also built intelligent workflows to re-engage past talent; candidates labeled “dormant” or “inactive” now automatically receive targeted outreach once a week for three weeks, effortlessly turning them back into warm leads.

Bullhorn has enabled us to tap into passive candidates, after automated triggers, these dormant candidates then get put into a ‘lead’ status for the consultants to reach out to.
The Marketing Team i2i Recruitment

The results

By embracing Bullhorn Analytics and Automation, i2i significantly improved their data hygiene. The team now has real-time, actionable data in front of them, giving them the ability to “slice and dice” information to better track business development calls, emails, and sales activities.

With consultants able to visualise their pipeline and a system that proactively alerts them when CVs need to be sent, nothing slips through the net anymore. Most importantly, by automating data cleansing and administrative tasks, consultants can rapidly access their goldmine of passive candidates. This has directly led to more interviews booked and more CVs submitted. Ultimately, by riding the technology wave with Bullhorn, i2i has successfully future-proofed its 20-year-old business, maintaining the personal touch that candidates and clients love while competing at the highest level.

By nurturing candidates and automating the candidate journey, we’re protecting our brand, improving candidate satisfaction, and building a stronger recruitment ecosystem

Talentia https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/customers/talentia/ Thu, 11 Dec 2025 18:48:57 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/?post_type=case_study&p=84279

Introduction

Talentia, a key division of the Talentia Group, is a leading provider of contract and permanent recruitment services in the education sector and the largest firm of its kind. The Group CEO, Guy Walker, leads the organisation which manages around 800 contractors and facilitates 5,000 placements annually with a team of about 90 employees. Talentia operates using the straightforward 360 model of recruitment. Talentia’s success and distinction stem from its investment in technology, its relationships-focused processes, and an unwavering commitment to advancing its sector. Talentia knew that staying at the forefront required a powerful and flexible technology partner. For the past two years, Talentia has relied on Bullhorn as its core platform, utilising Automations and Analytics to unlock greater efficiency, visibility, and scalability.

The Challenges

Prior to embarking on a digital transformation journey, Talentia recognised that its existing systems were hindering its potential for expansion and productivity. The need for change was driven by a fundamental requirement to upgrade the business.

Key issues included:

  • Lack of flexibility and integration: The previous CRM restricted innovation, as everything was “built by them, held by them, managed by them,” preventing Talentia from accessing and integrating the tools necessary for growth.
  • Capacity constraints: The existing structure lacked the necessary foundation to support ambitious scaling, limiting their ability to expand in desired directions.
  • Need for actionable data: Talentia needed a system specifically built around delivering measurable ROI, productivity, and growth, metrics they “just did not have” previously.
  • Focus on scaling: The primary consideration when choosing a new platform was not price, but the capacity and scale provided by a partner that could actively grow and support the business.

The Solution

Talentia selected Bullhorn to serve as the flexible, integrated platform needed to drive operational excellence and sustained expansion. Choosing Bullhorn meant partnering with a market leader whose open API and extensive Marketplace could integrate a broad range of tools.

The core components of their strategy included:

Bullhorn as the core platform: Bullhorn provided the foundation that enabled Talentia to access the tools they wanted and to expand the business in strategic directions.

Unified tech stack: Bullhorn’s flexibility allowed for the integration of multiple marketplace partners (including Konquest, RSM in time, and Cycler), alongside developing their own customised recruitment versions built on the platform. They also integrated tools like SourceWhale for business development.

Driving data hygiene: Working with a Bullhorn Partner, Talentia structured the system to include mandatory fields, enabling them to capture more relevant data, which streamlines performance and supports scalability.

Automation for efficiency: Automations were implemented to handle the “heavy lifting,” allowing consultants to dedicate more time to growing relationships. This included using automations to keep the database tidy, ensuring candidate information is up-to-date, and facilitating GDPR compliance.

Strategic partnership: Talentia viewed Bullhorn as a partner that rose to the challenge of supporting their growth and continues to guide them through the journey, even years after implementation.

The fact that everything links into Bullhorn means we get so much real data that you wouldn't get otherwise; therefore, Bullhorn becomes our single source of truth.
Guy Walker CEO Talentia Group

The Results

By implementing a unified Bullhorn solution, Talentia achieved immediate operational wins and exponential organisational growth, delivering clear evidence of ROI.

Direct Impact on Growth and Scaling:

  • Near 100% revenue increase: In the two years since implementing Bullhorn, Talentia’s annual turnover has surged from 38 million to 50 million, and then to 70 million.
  • Night-and-day capacity: The implementation made the business “night and day different,” providing “night and day capacity to scale and grow”.

Operational Efficiency and Data Clarity:

  • Single Source of Truth: One of the earliest and most immediate wins was Bullhorn becoming the “home of everything we did”—the single source of truth for all data, including CVs, jobs, timesheets, and accounting data—which was noticeable within the first month of rollout. The next quick win was the seamless integration of their preferred tools.
  • Real-time performance: Bullhorn Analytics ensures that necessary organisational ratios are “clear and evident and available,” displaying these metrics directly on the home screen of every consultant. Customised dashboards guide consultants and the business daily.
  • Enhanced engagement: Automations support warm-up campaigns, birthday messages, and the weekly distribution of informative, data-led newsletters to candidates and clients, achieving an impressive open rate of about 30%. This consistency ensures that once a candidate is in the system, there is “no such thing as a cold call anymore”.
  • Streamlined Onboarding: The onboarding process is largely managed by automations, ensuring every registered candidate receives a call, text, and email, followed by engagement from safeguarding and compliance teams.
Our turnover has gone from 38 million to 50 million to 70 million in the two years that we've had Bullhorn.
Guy Walker CEO Talentia Group

The Future

Looking ahead, Talentia is focused on integrating AI (such as Bullhorn Amplify) to make their workforce three times more efficient (e.g., filling 6 jobs instead of 2 per day). This focus on tripling productivity gains ensures they can scale effectively, without fluctuation in headcount. Despite being a large market leader, Talentia reports that Bullhorn provides strong support, ensuring they do not “feel like just a number,” a key aspect of their successful digital transformation.

The Stepstone Group https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/customers/the-stepstone-group/ Tue, 25 Mar 2025 12:00:13 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/customers/the-stepstone-group/

Introduction

Business development for recruitment agencies has never been more competitive. Agencies are under constant pressure to find new clients and deliver value beyond the traditional sales pitch. In this environment, intuition and persistence alone are no longer enough. Winning requires recruitment market intelligence — on real-time labor market insights, competitor behavior, and client needs.

The Stepstone Group, one of the world’s leading digital recruitment platforms, faced this challenge in the UK market. Through its brand Totaljobs, The Stepstone Group was determined to strengthen its recruitment agency prospecting strategy and equip its sales team with tools that would allow them to stand out. Enter Bullhorn Market IQ, a recruitment business development tool that transforms raw job posting data into actionable insights for sales and client engagement. With Market IQ, The Stepstone Group strengthened its prospecting strategy and achieved stronger results.

Why manual research slowed recruitment business development

The Stepstone Group had already established itself as a strong player in the UK, but competition remained relentless. Sales representatives were working hard to connect with prospects, but often lacked the depth of insight needed to make those conversations meaningful. Too much time was spent manually researching accounts, often without clear understanding of which prospects represented the greatest opportunity.

Meanwhile, competitors were targeting many of the same companies. Without differentiated competitive insights for recruiters, sales conversations risked sounding generic, making it harder for The Stepstone Group to stand out. Leaders realised that to scale business development effectively, the company needed to provide its teams with something more than a call list. They needed intelligence–data that would allow them to target the right prospects, walk into meetings prepared, and build trust through insight.

How Bullhorn Market IQ helped

Bullhorn Market IQ gave The Stepstone Group the visibility it needed to change the game. By aggregating and analysing billions of job postings worldwide across millions of websites, Market IQ provides real-time insights into what roles are being advertised and how competitors are engaging with the same prospects.

For The Stepstone Group, this meant sales representatives no longer had to rely on gut instinct or scattered research. Instead, they could identify exactly which companies were posting new roles, where gaps in coverage existed, and which opportunities aligned best with The Stepstone Group’s offerings. Market IQ also provided insight into competitor activity, showing where rival firms were placing jobs and giving The Stepstone Group a stronger position in conversations.

Armed with intelligence, The Stepstone Group’s sales teams shifted from a reactive to proactive business development model. Outreach evolved from generic calls to conversations rich with valuable, evidence-based insights.

Elevating client conversations

Market IQ revolutionised how The Stepstone Group connected with and engaged clients. Instead of opening a conversation with a pitch, sales representatives could begin with insights. They could reference specific hiring trends, point to competitor activity, or highlight roles that hadn’t yet been filled.

The shift transformed every conversation. Prospects began to see The Stepstone Group not as another supplier, but as a consultative partner who understood their challenges and could provide actionable labor market insights for recruiters. Clients often expressed surprise at the level of detail, with some even asking about the origin of the transformation. This transparency built credibility and helped The Stepstone Group stand out from competitors who lacked the same depth of knowledge.

As one business development manager explained, data-driven discussions opened doors that otherwise would have remained closed. By demonstrating an understanding of the client’s hiring environment, sales teams were able to speak directly to decision makers and engage them in more meaningful conversations.

The power of recruitment market data in action

Bullhorn Market IQ quickly proved its value for The Stepstone Group. Internal analysis showed that sales representatives who actively used Market IQ consistently outperformed their peers. Target attainment rates were higher and performance metrics across the board showed positive growth.

By reducing the time spent on manual research, Market IQ freed sales teams to focus more on direct client engagement. Representatives could prioritise the prospects most likely to convert, ensuring the effort was directed where it would have the greatest impact. Conversations became more consultative and more successful, as clients valued the added context and labor market insights for recruiters.

And the benefits extended far beyond immediate sales performance. The Stepstone Group also enhanced its brand perception in the market, positioning itself as a data-driven partner, rather than simply another recruitment provider. This positioning will continue to pay off as competition grows.

Preparing for tomorrow with market intelligence

For The Stepstone Group, the adoption of Bullhorn Market IQ represents a strategic shift in how BD enablement for recruitment teams is approached. Instead of relying on instinct, the company has embraced a data-driven model that scales effectively, drives smarter targeting, and strengthens client relationships.

Looking ahead, The Stepstone Group plans to expand its use of Market IQ to uncover additional opportunities across its markets. With the recruitment industry showing no signs of slowing, harnessing recruitment market intelligence will remain a key differentiator for firms aiming to stay ahead.

The Stepstone Group’s experience makes the case clear: in today’s market, data drives growth and offers a true competitive edge. With Bullhorn Market IQ, The Stepstone Group has shown what’s possible when intelligence is put to work.

Meet Life Sciences https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/customers/meet-life-sciences/ Sun, 09 Feb 2025 14:31:18 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/?post_type=case_study&p=80986

Introduction

Meet Life Sciences is a leading talent agency specializing in the life sciences industry, with a global presence spanning the UK, New York, San Francisco, San Diego, and Raleigh. With 150 team members worldwide, Meet is dedicated to connecting top talent with life sciences organizations.

As the Systems Innovation Manager, James Veale drives transformation by leveraging systems, technology, and processes to maximize efficiency and impact. Recognizing the evolving landscape of recruitment, James leads the charge in change management, standardizing existing systems, and spearheading innovation. His mission? To ensure Meet Life Sciences remains at the forefront of the industry by empowering its people and embracing the future of technology.

The challenges

Veale emphasized the importance of process efficiency, always seeking technology that can remove friction and make his team as productive as possible. “A lot of the time, recruitment is about urgency. We joke that the deadline for everything is yesterday,” he said.

By equipping his team with AI Assistant, his aim was to remove productivity barriers and reduce reliance on others. “We’re not looking to replace people with AI. We’re just looking for a chance to amplify what consultants do well and raise the standards of what they don’t do so well,” explained Veale. His ultimate goal was to delegate tedious tasks to AI, allowing his recruiters to focus on work that is more meaningful, more enjoyable, and more impactful.

Beyond efficiency, Veale saw an opportunity to enhance the candidate experience. “We’ve seen from the [Bullhorn GRID Talent Report] that customers and candidates increasingly expect a more personalized experience from their recruiters,” said Veale. “We want to deliver on that—not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s essential to staying competitive in the market.”

Veale believes that leveraging AI enables his team to provide a higher level of service to more people. “By using AI Assistant to draft more quality personalized messages and feedback, we keep more momentum in our processes” said Veale. “That helps enhance the overall experience for our consultants, candidates, and clients.”

AI Assistant is going to help transform both sales and non-billing roles in recruitment. It's huge for removing points of friction across the business.
James Veale Systems Innovation Manager, Meet Recruitment

The solution: Bullhorn AI Assistant

Veale is committed to staying at the forefront of new technologies. “I want to be one of the first to implement new tech and figure out how to make it work.”

Meet Life Sciences had been a Bullhorn customer for over seven years, so when the opportunity came up to use Bullhorn’s new AI functionality right within their existing system and processes, it made perfect sense to give it a try.

“I knew that if our team had AI integrated within the Bullhorn platform, they’d be less likely to turn to ChatGPT or other tools. By keeping everything in that environment, they’d be more motivated to stay within the CRM and input data correctly,” said Veale. “Having successfully rolled out AI Assistant at another recruitment agency, it was a no-brainer that it needed to be done at Meet.”

Bullhorn is really the center of my world. Everything feeds into it.
James Veale Systems Innovation Manager, Meet Recruitment

The results

Increased efficiency through customized prompts – Veale has found that AI Assistant drastically improves his team’s efficiency. “If I need to send an email, in only two clicks I can get an updated template to use, and then effortlessly adjust it to my own tone of voice,” said Veale. “This takes what was a cumbersome process and makes it much more effective.”

Here’s another example: Veale’s team uses AI to make sending rejection emails to candidates a more efficient and personalized experience. “You can use AI Assistant to draft a rejection message that has relevant information from the candidate’s profile and the job spec,” explained Veale. “Then by quickly adding in any relevant points from interview feedback or call notes, you can make sure it’s a good, human experience for everyone involved in the process with a reasonable amount of effort.”

In addition to creating emails, the Meet Life Sciences team uses AI Assistant to create candidate profile summaries. “We received feedback that the candidate summaries were helpful, but sometimes users wanted them in paragraph form,” said Veale. “So I created a prompt that condenses the information into two paragraphs, highlighting key professional experiences. On the job vacancy side, I built a prompt to match our team’s structure, saving time and improving efficiency by automating most of the process.”

Next, the team plans to work with Meet’s marketing team to automate job description publishing, which will reduce friction by posting jobs automatically if they are not published within a set timeframe.

“AI Assistant makes it easier to personalize communications and allows consultants to do their best work at all times,” said Veale.

Simple to use – After Meet Life Sciences implemented AI Assistant, the team quickly recognized the benefits of its approachable design. Veale shared, “One thing I really appreciate about AI Assistant is how user-friendly it is. It doesn’t feel technically intimidating, whether you’re approaching someone who is tech-phobic or a top biller who is reluctant to adopt a new system. It’s intuitive and right there in front of you, making it easy for anyone to use.”

Beyond its ease of use, Veale emphasized that the rollout itself was straightforward. “With traditional recruitment technology, we have to be really conscious of whether we can roll it out due to the cost and the investment in training from a systems perspective. But with AI Assistant, once it’s up and running, it’s almost entirely integrated into what you’re already doing with Bullhorn.”

Inspired creativity – AI Assistant has proved fruitful in removing common barriers. “People often run into writer’s block – how do I write this message? The easiest fallback is usually an old, outdated template that’s been sitting around for years,” said Veale. “With the AI Assistant, we can help them create a first draft of a message or job description. It updates the content, includes the right information, and ensures it’s more aligned with what the client or candidate is looking for.”

AI Assistant can be used to prompt creativity in recruiters. Veale created a custom prompt within the vacancy search that is designed to suggest additional job titles that should be included in the broader search. “If you’re building out a search and feel stuck, you can click on this prompt, and it either suggests a relevant title or sparks an idea. It helps overcome that writer’s block, allowing you to keep the momentum going and focus on the tasks you’re ready to tackle that day,” explained Veale.

Enhanced training – In addition to preventing writer’s block, AI Assistant helps junior recruiters get up to speed faster. “The life sciences journey requires quite a lot of knowledge,” said Veale. “When somebody joins Meet Life Sciences, our consultants work together to make sure they impart as much industry knowledge onto the new hires as possible.” AI Assistant helps new consultants use the correct technical industry language and gets them up to speed faster than before.

How Get Recruited competes with industry giants using Bullhorn https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/customers/get-recruited/ Fri, 30 Aug 2024 08:00:36 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/?post_type=case_study&p=83348

Introduction

Founded in 2006, Get Recruited has evolved into a multi-sector recruitment consultancy specialising in sales, marketing, insurance, and finance roles. Led by owner Matthew Ager, the agile team of 12 has built a reputation for excellence. For more on how our software helps small, agile teams, see our page on recruitment software for start-ups and small agencies. Central to their operation since 2011 is Bullhorn, which has become the agency’s single source of truth and the engine for its growth. “We’re competing with some of the biggest agencies out there, and succeeding,” Matthew states. “And that’s all with the backing of the technology platform that helps our recruiters to keep that competitive edge.”

The challenge: Scaling without a safety net

Before partnering with Bullhorn, Get Recruited struggled with a series of clunky and inefficient recruitment systems. “The user interface wasn’t particularly friendly,” recalls Matthew. “The data didn’t flow logically from a recruiter standpoint, and the systems didn’t play nicely with others.”

This lack of integration and poor user experience led to low adoption, forcing recruiters to work outside the platform and creating data silos. For a small business without a dedicated IT department, this was unsustainable. Get Recruited needed a scalable, reliable, and intuitive platform. These are the key features we built into our recruitment software for small agencies. Get Recruited needed a scalable, reliable, and intuitive platform that could:

  • Provide a central hub for all recruitment activity.
  • Integrate seamlessly with other critical tools.
  • Empower recruiters instead of hindering them.
  • Offer the power and stability to level the playing field with larger, resource-rich competitors.

The solution: A unified tech stack for a competitive edge

Get Recruited found its solution in the Bullhorn platform, adopting a suite of integrated tools that transformed its operations. “It’s a rule in our business: if it’s not in Bullhorn, it didn’t happen,” says Matthew. The agency now has a powerful, unified tech stack that serves as its operational backbone.

Bullhorn ATS: The core platform provides the single source of truth, giving the team a seamless, 360-degree view of their clients and candidates. Its intuitive design drove immediate user adoption.
Bullhorn Automation: Get Recruited has built hundreds of automations to handle everything from candidate communication to administrative tasks… ‘It’s saved us so much time,’ Matthew notes. “We’ve made real efficiencies where we’ve not actually needed to hire that extra administrator as the recruiting team has grown.”. To see how these tools can work for your growing team, explore our recruitment platform for small businesses and start-ups.
Bullhorn Analytics: Moving away from manual spreadsheets, the team now has real-time data at their fingertips. This allows leadership to track performance and profitability, while also empowering recruiters to manage their own activity and learn from top performers in the business.
Marketplace integrations: Using tools like CloudCall for telephony and Broadbean for job posting, all fully integrated with Bullhorn, ensures a seamless workflow and that all data is captured centrally.

Every time we add a tool to the system or make an efficiency in the workflow, our revenues take a leap up.
Matthew Ager Managing Director

The results: Increased profitability and a future-proofed business

By embracing digital transformation with Bullhorn, Get Recruited has achieved tangible results that directly impact its bottom line and competitive standing.

Direct impact on revenue: “Every time we add a tool to the system or make an efficiency in the workflow, our revenues take a leap up,” Matthew confirms. This direct correlation, tracked via Bullhorn Analytics, proves the ROI of investing in the right technology.
A level playing field: The sophisticated tech stack gives Get Recruited the capabilities of a much larger organisation. This is the goal of our all-in-one staffing solution for small businesses. “We’re partnering with a global business (Bullhorn) which is investing millions in developing a platform that businesses of our size can take huge advantage of,” says Matthew.
Preparing for the future with AI: Get Recruited is leaning into the power of AI through Bullhorn’s innovations. The team is already using AI Assistant features to help with creating screening questions and email drafts. They see AI not as a replacement for recruiters, but as a complementary tool that handles administrative tasks, freeing up consultants to focus on what they do best: building relationships. “The relationship becomes more important than ever before,” Matthew explains. “We don’t want to get left behind, and we know that we’ve got Bullhorn as a global partner that’s way ahead of the game in that respect.”

RBW’s Strategic Transformation https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/customers/rbw-and-bullhorn/ Fri, 30 Aug 2024 08:00:36 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/uk/?post_type=case_study&p=79976

Introduction

RBW Consulting is a recruitment consultancy specialising in the life sciences sector, covering everything from drug inception to marketing and release. With operations in Europe and the US, RBW faced significant challenges due to its growing size. The expanding team realised they needed to streamline their operations and improve their data integrity.

The Challenges

Before adopting Bullhorn, RBW’s technology was not cloud-based. Dominic Mitchell, RBW’s Global Operations Director, described their setup as “a traditional server which led to numerous issues, especially with remote offices and setting up the US operations.”

Additionally, their method of tracking business performance was cumbersome and inefficient. ‘We had extensive spreadsheets, but they were not tied to the realities of the data we were recording,’ explained Mitchell. ‘Consultants reported their weekly KPIs via email, which were then manually updated in a central spreadsheet. This process was not only time-consuming but also prone to inaccuracies and inconsistencies.’

The Solution

Remote working with cloud-based technology

RBW’s digital transformation journey began earnestly in 2019 when they adopted the Bullhorn CRM. They went live with Bullhorn in September 2019, followed by the integration of Bullhorn Analytics in mid-2020 and automation tools in early 2021. This shift to cloud-based solutions provided immediate benefits. “We were able to overnight just flip a switch and have everyone working from home exactly the same way they’d been working from the office,” said Mitchell, highlighting how the timely adoption of cloud technology allowed them to smoothly transition to remote work during the pandemic.

Better business development with Bullhorn Analytics

Bullhorn has greatly enhanced RBW’s business development efforts. By leveraging the information stored in Bullhorn Analytics and utilising automation, RBW can efficiently send out marketing materials and gain actionable insights through client-specific reports. They can easily access Bullhorn data, which makes it straightforward to understand client interactions, aiding both cold outreach and deepening relationships with existing clients. This data-driven approach allows RBW to be more effective in its business development strategies, fostering stronger client connections and informed decision-making.

Improved candidate engagement with Automation

Manual outreach remains an essential part of the process for RBW, but automation supports it by making the workflow more efficient. Consultants can focus on personalised interactions while the system handles bulk communications, improving overall productivity and response times.

According to Mitchell, “Automation allows our consultants to work a lot more efficiently, and for jobs to get to our candidate base quicker as well.”

Candidates that haven't been spoken to in a certain period of time are now automatically flagged, and statuses are updated to keep the data set clean. This ensures that RBW can maintain a high standard of data quality, which is crucial for making informed business decisions and providing top-notch service to their clients
Dominic Mitchell Global Operations Director

The Results

The implementation of Bullhorn has transformed RBW’s operations. By moving to a cloud-based system, RBW resolved their accessibility issues, allowing seamless remote work and improving overall productivity. The automation and analytics solutions provided by Bullhorn also streamlined their KPI tracking and data management processes, making them more efficient and less reliant on manual entry and updates.

Moreover, leveraging Bullhorn’s technology for data hygiene has been a game-changer. “Candidates that haven’t been spoken to in a certain period of time are now automatically flagged, and statuses are updated to keep the data set clean. This ensures that RBW can maintain a high standard of data quality, which is crucial for making informed business decisions and providing top-notch service to their clients”.

Improvement in data hygiene is evident from the significant decrease in incorrect logging by consultants. In 2021, consultants averaged 50 incorrectly booked interviews, but this number has dropped to just 0.07 in 2024.

RBW’s approach to AI

AI is set to substantially impact the recruitment industry over the next three years, prompting RBW to prepare for this significant change rather than rushing to implement generative AI functionalities immediately. While AI and automation are becoming increasingly crucial in various sectors, including life sciences, RBW is strategically positioning itself for the comprehensive integration of AI technologies.

“The impact that’s going to have on the recruitment industry over the next three years is going to be absolutely huge. So I think that’s more what we’re working towards than worrying too much about getting some gen AI functionality into our processes. We’re kind of keeping our powder dry, getting ourselves ready for the full directive AI”, said Mitchell.

Introduction

A B corp certified recruitment agency, enable specialises in connecting top talent with people-first organisations in Sales, Finance, HR, Operations, Legal, and Insurance. Their mission is to redefine recruitment through innovation, integrity, and unparalleled client service.

Before switching to the Bullhorn Platform, including CRM, Automation, Analytics and SourceBreaker, enable had experienced a complicated journey with their previous vendor. We sat down with Oliver Howson, Co-Founder and Managing Director of enable, to learn why the team decided to partner with Bullhorn to transform their recruitment operations.

The Challenges

‘Our previous platform was clunky, overcomplicated and not at all user-friendly,’ said Oliver.

The poor customer service was a main concern for enable as they had to reach out to the support team multiple times with no reply. In the end, they had to chase down a customer success team member on LinkedIn in the hopes of getting a response. Despite being pitched as an all-in-one solution, the platform failed to meet enable’s expectations, leading to frustration and inefficiency within their recruitment workflows whilst locked into a contract.

The decision to transition to Bullhorn

Driven by the need for simplicity, efficiency, and good customer support, enable explored alternative CRM solutions. Bullhorn emerged as the frontrunner, offering intuitive functionality, streamlined workflows, and excellent customer service. Oliver shared that the consultants were all pushing for Bullhorn as many had used the CRM before and found it much more user-friendly. The promise of a seamless transition process made it an easy choice.

‘Our consultants wanted to use Bullhorn, and it was as simple as that. The switch from our previous platform to Bullhorn was straightforward, and our support throughout the process has been unparalleled compared to what the other service provider ever offered us’, said Oliver.

The Results

Since partnering with Bullhorn, enable has transformed its recruitment operations by prioritising user experience, efficiency, and customer support.

According to Oliver, the transition to Bullhorn was very smooth, with the implementation team providing excellent support. Despite initial concerns about data migration and integration with other tools, enable experienced minimal disruptions.

As a result of the transition, enable has experienced a significant improvement in operational efficiency and user satisfaction. Oliver said that the intuitive interface and simplified workflows have empowered recruiters to focus on core tasks like client engagement and candidate sourcing rather than grappling with cumbersome software.

‘Our employees who have used Bullhorn before have all said they had a much better experience with it as it’s much more simple, easy to use and set up. So from a managerial perspective, this is very positive!’ said Oliver.

As for the enable team’s reaction to the change? According to Oliver, Bullhorn’s user-centric approach and its role in driving productivity has been well-received across the organisation and they’re all looking forward to the full flow of being a Bullhorn user.
