BOSTON – May 28, 2026 – Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, announced a major expansion of Bullhorn Amplify at Engage Boston 2026, the company’s flagship annual conference: Amplify Digital Workers, four new digital worker skills—Prospect, Verify, Audit and Transcribe—and Amplify Chat, a new conversational interface that lets users interact with their Bullhorn data using everyday language.

Bullhorn’s Founder and CEO, Art Papas, and Chief Innovation and Labs Officer, Jason Heilman, unveiled the Amplify Digital Worker expansion during the Engage keynote.

At the center of the announcement is a fundamental shift in how recruiters and salespeople interact with Bullhorn. Amplify Chat, the platform’s new conversational interface, acts as the command layer for the entire digital worker ecosystem, letting teams direct AI skills, query live data, and trigger complex, multi-step workflows through plain-language instructions, without switching tools or running reports.

Powered by AI that is purpose-built for the staffing industry, Amplify Digital Workers remove the grind, follow recruiters and salespeople everywhere they work, and help staffing firms drive growth and protect margins in an increasingly competitive market. By automating high-volume tasks, capturing context across conversations and systems, and surfacing the next best actions to take, Amplify transforms Bullhorn from a system of record into a system of action, creating superhuman teams.

Market force No. 1: AI-driven productivity and freeing recruiters from the grind

According to Bullhorn data, recruiter retention has only gotten worse. For the 2024 group of new hires, only 35 percent remained after two years, down from 41 percent in 2017. Each new recruiter takes about 180 days to become productive, and much of that time is spent on repetitive work: data entry, candidate outreach, screening and preparing submittals.

Amplify Digital Workers take those tasks off the table through five existing skills already in use by staffing firms:

  • Enrich: Clean and complete data across the system with no manual effort
  • Match: Automatically pair the best candidates in the system to open roles
  • Screen: Run interviews by chat or voice and deliver candidate summaries
  • Outreach: Launch and manage multi-step communication campaigns
  • Present: Build and send client-ready candidate submission packets automatically

Amplify Chat gives staffing teams a faster way to get answers. Instead of pulling reports or digging through records, users can ask everyday questions like, “show me my most recently added candidates,” or “which clients have posted a new job this month,” and get results in seconds. It can also take action, whether that’s creating a note, building a list, or setting a follow-up task. The experience is conversational, intuitive, and built so teams can spend less time on manual work, and more time winning and closing business.

Staffing firms already employing Amplify Digital Workers are seeing it in their numbers. Procom achieved a 65 percent increase in its submission-to-placement rate. Employment Enterprises saw a 23 percent increase in weekly gross profit. IDR saved 200 hours per week. Tential handled 40 percent more submissions with the same size team. Across early adopters, placements-per-recruiter increased 39 percent, even as orders declined 20 percent and headcount remained steady.

Market force No. 2: Overwhelming volume and fraud

AI has created a problem on the other side of the desk, too. Job seekers and bots are now generating as many as 11,000 applications per minute, flooding recruiters with near-identical submissions and making it harder to find real, qualified candidates.

The new Verify skill detects and flags authenticity signals across the candidate lifecycle, from screening to onboarding, document verification, and ongoing assignment check-ins. Used with Screen, it helps recruiters quickly separate real candidates from potentially fraudulent ones so they can make better hiring decisions faster, rather than manually sorting through a growing pile of applications.

Market force No. 3: Margin and talent pipeline pressure

Staffing margins have compressed 10 percent in the past 12 months across both professional and light industrial segments. At the same time, companies are cutting junior roles to reduce costs, which shrinks the talent pool staffing firms recruit from.

Three new skills target this problem directly:

  • Prospect: Identify and prioritize new business opportunities so firms can grow revenue without guessing where to focus
  • Audit: Surface pay, bill and compliance errors across Bullhorn data, catching costly mistakes before they hit the bottom line
  • Transcribe: Capture and summarize every conversation, turning meetings and calls into next steps that keep placements moving and revenue on track

“Staffing firms are facing pressure from every direction,” said Jason Heilman, chief innovation and labs officer at Bullhorn. “Candidate fraud is rising, margins are compressing, and clients expect faster, better results. Amplify lets firms scale their business with digital workers that automate work across recruiting and sales, from screening and outreach to prospecting, data enrichment and workflow validation. The result is a fundamental shift in how staffing firms operate, with recruiters and salespeople spending less time on manual work, and more time on the relationships and decisions that drive results.”

BOSTON – April 23, 2026 – Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, today announced the promotions of Jason Heilman to Chief Innovation & Labs Officer and Ryan Murphy to Chief Corporate Development Officer. As members of the executive leadership team, they will help drive the company’s next wave of growth and innovation.

Jason Heilman, Chief Innovation & Labs Officer

Heilman joined Bullhorn in 2020 when the company acquired Herefish, the automation platform he led as CEO, in what became the most successful acquisition in Bullhorn’s history. Since joining, Heilman has grown Bullhorn Automation more than 25x and most recently led the development and launch of Bullhorn Amplify, the company’s next-generation AI solution.

In addition to Bullhorn Amplify, in his new role, Heilman will lead Bullhorn Labs, the company’s dedicated innovation hub focused on incubating and scaling new technology offerings. He will focus on long-term, strategic market opportunities while continuing to serve as one of Bullhorn’s most prominent voices with customers on product vision and roadmap.

“Jason turned an acquisition into one of the most important growth engines in our company’s history, and then he did it again with Bullhorn Amplify,” said Art Papas, founder and CEO of Bullhorn. “He has a rare ability to see where the market is headed and build products that get there first.”

Ryan Murphy, Chief Corporate Development Officer

Murphy joined Bullhorn in 2006 and over his tenure has led the company’s largest and most strategic customer engagements, building Enterprise Sales into a cornerstone of Bullhorn’s growth.

“Ryan is one of the most trusted leaders in this company and the industry. He spent nearly 20 years building our enterprise business on relationships, and that is the foundation of great corporate development,” said Papas. “He knows how to earn trust, navigate complexity and deliver results. That’s exactly what this role demands.”

Acquisitions have been central to Bullhorn’s growth, with more than 15 completed to date across five countries. Murphy’s track record of building long-term relationships and structuring complex, multi-stakeholder agreements positions him to lead this next phase of the company’s expansion.

Bullhorn, SIA expand Staffing Indicator with Light Industrial, Office/Clerical reporting https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/bullhorn-sia-expand-staffing-indicator-with-light-industrial-office-clerical-reporting/ Tue, 24 Mar 2026 16:02:21 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/?post_type=press_release&p=104753 Weekly tracker adds reporting for two new segments with hours tracked by occupation rather than industry

BOSTON – March 24, 2026 – Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, and Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) today announced a significant expansion of the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator, including a fully redesigned dashboard, two new segments, a new average weekly hours-per-worker metric and hours now tracked by occupations rather than industry.

Launched in partnership with SIA in 2021, the Staffing Indicator is a weekly index relied on by thousands of staffing executives and economists. It tracks hours worked for more than 200,000 workers employed by hundreds of staffing firms using Bullhorn’s technology across a range of industries, occupations and regions nationwide.

The expansion comes as the temporary staffing market faces uneven demand shifts across jobs, with some segments growing while others contract.

New segment reporting: Light Industrial and Office/Clerical

Previous editions of the Indicator reported Light Industrial and Office/Clerical hours together under the Commercial segment, but beginning this week, these segments will be reported separately to provide greater granularity into two categories that are experiencing distinct trends.

With these changes, the Indicator now tracks five segments: Professional, Commercial, IT, Light Industrial and Office/Clerical.

Occupation-based classification

Made possible by AI that can organize thousands of job titles by occupation weekly, the enhanced Indicator now classifies each worker’s hours based on job title rather than the industry their employer operates in. For example, administrative assistants and office managers are now classified under clerical occupations regardless of whether they work in healthcare, manufacturing or software. The new classification has been applied retroactively across the full historical dataset, dating back to January 2019.

This significant update offers a unique view into the trends shaping job demand across occupations. As AI adoption accelerates and macroeconomic forces continue to reshape the labor market, understanding how demand is shifting across occupations, not just industries, is more critical than ever.

The data will also now include average weekly hours per worker for each segment, which will provide an early read on staffing demand since changes in hours typically precede changes in headcount.

With these updates, the Indicator becomes the definitive weekly resource for staffing leaders and economists, offering the clearest and most complete picture of U.S. temporary staffing trends available.

The enhanced Staffing Indicator and redesigned dashboard are available now at bullhorn.com/insights/staffing-industry-indicator.

Bullhorn GRID report: Staffing firms using AI see stronger growth, faster placements https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/bullhorn-grid-report-staffing-firms-using-ai-see-stronger-growth-faster-placements/ Wed, 25 Feb 2026 14:00:14 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/?post_type=press_release&p=103977 Survey of nearly 2,300 recruitment professionals finds AI adoption strongly correlates with revenue growth, while top performers set new benchmarks for speed and productivity

BOSTON – February 25, 2026 – Top-performing staffing firms are four times more likely to leverage AI, and the results are clear: faster placements, higher productivity and significant revenue growth. That is according to the 16th annual Global Recruitment Insights and Data (GRID) Industry Trends Report published by Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry.

The report surveyed nearly 2,300 recruitment professionals globally to understand the strategies driving performance in today’s market, and the findings make one thing clear: AI is no longer an efficiency experiment. It is a competitive necessity. The revenue gap between firms meaningfully using AI and those that aren’t is widening fast, leaving late adopters at a growing operational and financial disadvantage.

AI is driving measurable gains

The correlation between AI and revenue growth is clear, and the highest-growth firms prove it. Among those that grew revenue by more than 25 percent, 78 percent are using AI tools embedded in their applicant tracking system, and the operational impact is substantial.

  • 55 percent of firms report AI screening alone improved KPIs by more than 25 percent
  • 46 percent say AI cut screening time in half or better
  • 56 percent of the highest-growth firms report average placement times under 10 days

AI transformation starts at the top

Despite clear performance gains, company-wide AI adoption remains limited. Only 10 percent of firms have implemented agentic AI across their full workflow, with many citing concerns around data readiness, security and unclear implementation strategies as barriers to broader adoption.

Firms that move past those barriers share a common trait: confident, prepared leadership. Leaders who feel equipped to guide AI adoption were nearly 40 percent more likely to have achieved revenue growth in 2025.

With 43 percent of firms expecting only modest economic improvement in 2026, the message is clear: firms investing in AI are not waiting for market recovery. They are building productivity and growth on their own terms.

Bullhorn Expands SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator with New IT Staffing Indicator https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/it-staffing-indicator/ Tue, 06 Jan 2026 16:32:32 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/?post_type=press_release&p=102723 In partnership with Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), new IT Staffing Indicator provides real-time visibility into technology labor market as IT hiring remains critical economic driver

BOSTON – January 6, 2026 – Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, today announced the launch of the IT Staffing Indicator, a dedicated IT staffing segment within the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator.

Launched in partnership with Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) in 2021, the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator is a weekly index that tracks hours worked for more than 150,000 workers employed by hundreds of staffing firms using Bullhorn’s technology across a range of industries, occupations and regions nationwide.

As the largest occupational category in the overall Indicator, the IT Staffing Indicator represents a statistically significant portion of the overall IT contingent labor market. It tracks weekly hours worked by temporary and contract tech workers, from software developers and cybersecurity specialists to AI engineers and cloud architects, and captures technology talent demand across every industry, from financial services and technology to consumer goods and manufacturing. By reporting data weekly for the week that ended 10 days prior, it provides one of the most comprehensive, real-time views of U.S. staffing activity.

IT staffing as a critical economic indicator

“We’re seeing shifts in the labor market show up in our data months before they appear in government reports,” said Art Papas, founder and CEO of Bullhorn. “The IT Staffing Indicator is particularly revealing because technology hiring is a bet on the future, not a response to current needs. When companies bring on cloud architects or AI engineers, they’re investing in capabilities that won’t pay off for 6-12 months, which means IT contract hours are essentially measuring business confidence for what’s coming next.”

The technology sector has consistently served as a bellwether for broader economic trends, with IT hiring patterns often signaling shifts in business investment and innovation priorities ahead of other sectors. As companies across all industries continue their digital transformation efforts, demand for technology talent has become a key indicator of business confidence and growth expectations.

“The SIA | Bullhorn IT Staffing Indicator reflects the growing need for more precise, timely insight into how technology talent demand is evolving,” said Ursula Williams, president of SIA. “By isolating IT staffing hours and tracking them over a longer historical period, this new indicator gives staffing and solutions firms, enterprise hiring managers as well as investors a clearer view of real-time market dynamics. And this comes at a time when digital transformation, AI adoption and worker preferences continue to reshape the workforce.”

Bullhorn extends offer to provide federal reserve critical staffing data amid resource access challenges https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/bullhorn-extends-labor-data/ Thu, 23 Oct 2025 15:27:46 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/?post_type=press_release&p=101613 SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator provides real-time insights into US labor market as alternative data sources become essential

BOSTON – October 23, 2025 – As the Federal Reserve navigates reduced access to private employment data, Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, is highlighting the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator as a valuable resource for gauging real-time labor market trends to help inform economic analysis.

The Indicator is a unique tool that provides weekly insights into labor market activity across the U.S., reflecting weekly hours worked for an average of more than 150,000 workers employed by staffing firms that utilize Bullhorn’s technology solutions.

The announcement comes as Federal Reserve officials face challenges accessing both government economic statistics due to the ongoing shutdown and private employment data.

Comprehensive labor market coverage

As a partnership between Bullhorn and Staffing Industry Analysts, the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator represents a sizable sample of the U.S. staffing industry, reflecting a wide range of occupations, industry verticals and geographic footprint across the country. Each week, the Indicator reports data for the week that ended 10 days prior to the release, providing near real-time insights into temporary and contract staffing employment trends.

Staffing industry is a leading indicator of broader labor market trends

Contingent labor has always been a leading indicator for the U.S. employment market. Historically, temporary labor contracts one to two quarters prior to contractions in the broader employment market. Similarly, staffing and temporary employment expand rapidly ahead of jobs growth.

Significant labor market weakness, with potential signs of stabilization

For 18 months, the SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator was signaling extremely weak demand for labor, with some segments having been in decline for quite some time. However, according to the Indicator’s most recent data, overall U.S. staffing hours are at a year-to-date high and have been for the last three weeks. The staffing market is demonstrating stabilization driven largely by slow growth in the light industrial sector, which has been offsetting the sluggish growth in professional jobs that includes areas like technology, finance and legal.

“By connecting millions of temporary and contract workers with businesses, the staffing industry has long served as a leading economic indicator,” said Art Papas, founder and CEO of Bullhorn. “The SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator provides business leaders, investors and policy makers real-time, comprehensive labor market insights that are critical for strategic decision-making.”

The human-AI partnership: New data from Bullhorn reveals how AI can save the candidate experience https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/gridtalent2025_na/ Wed, 24 Sep 2025 15:15:44 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/?post_type=press_release&p=101081 Findings confirm candidates with positive AI experiences are more satisfied and loyal

BOSTON – September 24, 2025 – Candidate satisfaction is declining across all aspects of the recruitment process, dropping as much as 20 percent in key areas like speed and responsiveness; however, AI is emerging as the key solution. This is according to the latest Global Recruitment Insights and Data (GRID) 2025 Talent Trends report published by Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry.

The report, which collected data from nearly 2,800 professionals, found that of those who have interacted with AI in the job-search process, 77 percent rated it as positive. Even more, 88 percent of candidates rated AI voice agents either as good as, or better than, a human interview.

Loyalty is a result of a great experience

Job seekers are tired of being left in the dark. A staggering 72 percent of respondents stated they stopped working with a recruiter due to lack of communication and slow responsiveness. According to the findings, AI in the recruitment process drives candidate loyalty up by as much as 45 percent, with “getting a response to every application” being the top benefit respondents list. Even just communicating once a week can boost loyalty to 86 percent.

“The future of recruiting is a powerful partnership between human expertise and AI efficiency,” said Lia Taniguchi, MBA, Senior Research Manager at Bullhorn. “Our data proves that using AI can build crucial trust and loyalty, while freeing up recruiters to focus on what matters most: having the quality conversations to best support a job seeker during such a vulnerable time.”

Only 35 percent of respondents listed staffing firms as their go-to option for their job search, a decline from last year. As the market improves, this statistic will only become more challenging for firms when talent has more options. To reverse this declining trend and learn key findings around what specifically is driving candidate loyalty, and more, download the full report here.

About the GRID Talent Trends report
The annual GRID Talent Trends Report is based on data collected from a multiple-choice, online survey to more than 2,800 professionals who have worked with a staffing firm in the last three years. Respondents work across a variety of industries and around the globe, including North America, the UK and Ireland, Benelux, DACH, and APAC. The survey was conducted in July 2025.

Bullhorn acquires TargetRecruit and expands Salesforce ecosystem to 150,000 users https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/bullhorn-acquires-targetrecruit/ Fri, 01 Aug 2025 14:01:09 +0000 https://www.bullhorn.com/?post_type=press_release&p=100162 Acquisition broadens Bullhorn’s healthcare staffing reach and unlocks innovation for TargetRecruit customers with AI and middle-office expertise

BOSTON — August 1, 2025 — Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, today announced the acquisition of TargetRecruit, a Houston-based provider of front- and middle-office solutions built on the Salesforce platform. The acquisition deepens Bullhorn’s strategic investment in supporting firms that run their business on Salesforce and bolsters its position as the leading recruitment ISV in the Salesforce ecosystem.

With the addition of TargetRecruit, Bullhorn’s Salesforce user base grows to nearly 150,000, further solidifying its scale and reach. Building a great independent software vendor (ISV) business on the Salesforce platform in the recruitment industry is incredibly hard, especially in the middle office, as it is one of the most complex and costly areas to get right. The company’s deep investment in middle office and Marketplace partnerships on the Salesforce platform unlocks even greater value for TargetRecruit customers.

“TargetRecruit has built a strong reputation in healthcare staffing, and we’re excited to welcome their customers into the Bullhorn community,” said Jonathan Novich, Bullhorn’s SVP Product – Salesforce. “This acquisition not only expands our Salesforce ecosystem footprint, it also gives TargetRecruit customers a clear path to innovation, powered by Bullhorn’s proven technology, AI investments, and middle office expertise.”

BOSTON – June 17, 2025 – Bullhorn, the global leader in software for the staffing and recruitment industry, today announced the promotion of Mitesh Ashar to the newly created role of Chief Customer Officer (CCO). In this strategic role, Ashar will lead Bullhorn’s global Customer Experience organization, driving innovation and exceptional service across all customer touchpoints.

Ashar’s journey to this role is one Bullhorn’s customers will recognize. He began his relationship with Bullhorn as an executive at an IT staffing firm. He was one of the company’s earliest customers. During his implementation in 2006 and throughout his time as a customer, Ashar worked closely with Bullhorn’s leadership, including Founder and CEO Art Papas and President and COO Matt Fischer, providing thoughtful feedback that directly influenced product development.

“Mitesh pushed us to make the product better, because he cared deeply about how technology supports real business goals,” said Papas. “That perspective has never left him, and it’s one of the many reasons he’s the ideal leader for our customer organization.”

At Bullhorn’s first user conference in 2007, Ashar felt compelled to make the leap and join the company. Initially, he led customer implementations, before moving into top product leadership roles where he helped shape Bullhorn’s product portfolio. “I was struck deeply by Bullhorn’s culture and the huge opportunity the company had. Nearly 20 years later, I still feel that way,” said Ashar. Ashar has remained deeply connected to customers and the challenges they face. He brings a sharp understanding of what customers are trying to achieve with technology and how to align Bullhorn’s teams to help them get there.

In his new role as CCO, Ashar will have an even greater impact by leading an organization responsible for equipping customers with the strategy, support, and tools to successfully adopt, implement, and scale Bullhorn’s technology solutions. His appointment reflects Bullhorn’s expanded commitment to customer success, as well as the opportunity afforded by Bullhorn Amplify and the need for customers to integrate AI into their businesses.

“Our customers are facing an enormous change in the coming years driven by artificial intelligence. It has the potential to be one of the most important technological advancements the staffing industry has ever seen. Our customers are going to need help navigating this change, and Mitesh is the perfect leader for this moment,” said Fischer.

Ashar brings more than 30 years of experience across staffing, software, and operations. Ashar holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and an MBA from the University of Mumbai.

“I’m honored to take on this role,” said Ashar. “Bullhorn has always been about empowering staffing firms to grow. I’ve been on both sides — first as a customer, now as a leader — and I believe this is the most exciting moment yet. We’re going to help our customers lead the industry into the future.”

Paul Sorensen, CEO of Partners Personnel, added: “Mitesh has always been a trusted partner — someone who understands both our challenges and opportunities. He’s exactly who you want in your corner when you’re navigating a big change.”
